10. The live shift challenge

Make a team of 3–4: receptionist, duty manager, operations colleague and guest. Read one message at a time. You have 45 seconds after each message to decide who acts, what happens now and what to say. Rotate who speaks.

11. Speak, don’t just point

Each student must say one useful sentence in role. A colleague checks: Did we ask a question? Did we contact the right person? Did we avoid guessing?

On-shift English: I understand the problem. / Please avoid that area. / I’ll ask our colleague to check. / I’ll come back to you with an update.
