Max was already at the bus stop.
He checked his phone again and again.
“They should be here by now…” he said quietly.
A minute later, he saw someone running.
“Hey! You made it!” Max smiled.
Anna stopped next to him, breathing fast.
“I almost couldn’t leave,” she said.
“My parents might have heard me.”
“But you’re here,” Max said. “That’s what matters.”
Soon, Leo arrived too, carrying a big backpack.
“Why do you have so much stuff?” Max asked.
“You can’t bring your whole house.”
Leo laughed.
“We might need everything. You never know.”
Anna shook her head.
“No, we shouldn’t take too much. It’s just one trip.”
Leo opened his bag.
“I could leave some things… maybe.”
Max looked around the empty street.
“So… we’re really doing this?” he said.
Anna smiled.
“We must be a little crazy.”
Leo grinned.
“Yeah… but this could be fun.”
