🏨 A guest arrives

It is 18:45. Mariya Orlova arrives with her friend after a delayed train. Her phone is almost dead. She says: “I booked a room for tonight, but I cannot find the confirmation email.”

The hotel is nearly full.

Task 1

In pairs, choose the first three details you need. Put them in the order you would ask for them.

1. the name used for the booking
2. the arrival date
3. the number of guests
4. the guest's favourite city
5. the train number

Task 2

Say your first reply to Mariya. It must do two things: show that you are taking action and ask for one useful fact.

Then change partners. Your new partner is impatient and says: “I paid yesterday. I need a room now.” Keep the same calm tone, but ask a different useful question.
