Three Days by the Sea
Part 1. Before the trip
Lera was nineteen. In August, she worked in a cafe. She wanted three quiet days by the sea with her friend Katya. They found a guesthouse online. The advert said: 'A sea view, a quiet room and free Wi-Fi.' Lera looked at the photos and booked three nights. She paid 12,000 roubles for the room. Katya said, 'It looks perfect!'
- How old was Lera?
- Where did she work: in a cafe / in a hotel?
- Did she want a quiet holiday or a busy holiday?
- How much did she pay?
- What happens next: everything is perfect / something is different?
Part 2. The room

They arrived at four in the afternoon. Their room was clean, but it looked different. From the window, they saw a busy road, not the sea. Buses stopped outside. The room was noisy. Lera tried to call her mother, but the Wi-Fi did not work. She looked at the advert on Katya's phone. The room in the photo had a sea view. Their room did not.
- Was the room clean?
- What was outside: the sea / a busy road?
- Why was the room noisy?
- What did not work?
- What would you check first: the window / Wi-Fi / the bed?
Part 3. Stay or leave?
'Let's leave,' Katya said. But they had already paid. Another guesthouse cost more, and they only had three days. Lera did not want to spend the evening looking for a room. She took a photo of the street. They went to reception, showed the advert and asked for help. The receptionist listened. Then she said, 'I see the problem. Let me check another room.'
- Who wanted to leave?
- Why was leaving difficult: they had paid / they liked the noise?
- What did Lera show at reception?
- Did the receptionist listen?
- What will she offer: another room / no help / their money back?
