13. The no-perfect-room case
A guest is travelling with a colleague. They need two separate beds, a wide doorway and an accessible bathroom.
Look at Rooms A-D again. No room has every feature.
| Bad strategy | Professional strategy |
|---|---|
| Choose any room and say it is perfect. | Explain what you can offer, check the missing feature and suggest an alternative. |
Team decision: What would you say to the guest? Prepare two sentences and one question.
14. No dead ends
Replace each dead-end reply with language that keeps the conversation moving.
| Avoid | Say instead |
|---|---|
| I don't know. | Let me check that for you. |
| We don't have it. | I can offer you an alternative. |
| That's impossible. | Let me see what we can do. |
| It's probably fine. | May I confirm exactly what you need? |
Speed round: one student reads the left side; the partner answers professionally without looking.
Exit challenge: 20-second recommendation
Choose one guest from the picture and speak without reading a full dialogue:
I recommend Room ___. It is suitable because ___. It has ___. Before I book it, may I ask ___?
Partner check: Did you hear a room, a reason and one professional question?
