Part 3. Everybody saw the video
Before his phone ran out of battery, Denis posted a ten-second video: the car in the mud and Artem saying, “My brother is going to kill me.” The village lights were about two kilometres away, so the three friends walked there in the rain.
A local man named Viktor came with a tractor and towed the car out. Nobody was hurt, but the front bumper was damaged. They arrived home at three in the morning. Artem's brother was waiting. He already knew everything because a friend had sent him Denis's video.
He did not shout. He wrote three numbers on his phone: fuel — 2,500 roubles; the tractor — 4,000; the bumper — about 12,000. Then he said, “You wanted a free trip. It cost 18,500 roubles. You can pay half from your summer money.”
What happened?
- What did Denis post?
- Why did his phone stop working?
- How far away was the village?
- Who helped the friends?
- What vehicle did Viktor use?
- Was anybody hurt?
- What part of the car was damaged?
- How much did the “free” trip cost?
- How did Artem's brother learn the truth?
- Was his reaction fair?
