🔤 Reading Lab 8 - Break Long Words into Syllables

A company message contains long words that students already know orally. Break them into parts before reading the full message.

Task 1

Read the words. Underline the bold chunk on paper or in your notebook. Read each word once slowly, then once as a whole word.

• me-chan-ic
• de-liv-er-y
• res-er-va-tion
• in-for-ma-tion

Task 2

Work in pairs. Student A reads three words. Student B points to the chunk that helped and says what the word can mean in Russian or English. Then switch roles.

Choose one word and make a short useful sentence with it.
