LESSON: Alex gets 3 jobs in the garage
1) STORY (expanded, more realistic)
Alex works in a busy car service. It’s Monday morning. The garage is loud: air tools, metal sounds, people talking. The manager says:
“Alex, today you have three jobs. One is easy, one is dangerous, one is tricky.
Work fast — but don’t make mistakes.”
Alex opens the job list on the computer. He must:
- check the part / condition
- describe it clearly (like a professional)
- choose the first action
- decide: safe / not safe
β Job A — “Brake pads” (fast customer)
A customer is waiting and looks impatient. He says:
“I need fast service today. I can’t wait.”
- Part: brake pads (new)
- Condition: clean and dry
- Size: small
- Note: customer wants fast service today
Alex thinks:
“This is easy… but I still must check quickly. If I rush too much, I can make a mistake.”
β οΈ Job B — “Battery” (safety risk)
Another car arrives. The hood is already open. Alex looks at the battery and doesn’t like it.
- Part: car battery (old)
- Condition: case looks dirty
- Terminals are open (no cover)
- Weight: heavy
- Note: safety risk
The customer says:
“It’s okay, just test it quickly.”
Alex thinks:
“If I touch the terminals wrong, it can spark. I must make it safe first.”
π Job C — “Tire + rim” (customer pressure + danger)
A customer drives in and points at the wheel. The tire is wet, and Alex sees a cut.
- Part: wheel (tire + rim)
- Size: wide
- Condition: tire is damaged (cut) and wet
- Note: customer says: “It’s probably fine.”
The customer jokes:
“Bro, it’s fine. I drove like this yesterday!”
Alex thinks:
“This is the dangerous type. Customer wants to drive, but the tire is cut. I must decide.”
